Cabin, Glen Lake, Empire, MI
Randy enjoyed the challenge of designing this cabin to fit in a pre-determined footprint for summer dwellers in a condominium association. Despite its small size, he was able to achieve an open living area with a wood-burning stove, rustic kitchen cabinetry and built-in dining area, in addition to 2 bedrooms, 2 baths and an open loft overlooking Glen Lake.
This project is an example of collaborating extensively with the family, who wanted to do a share of the work themselves. They, including their 2 young boys, did all the painting and staining on both the exterior and the interior, laid their own flooring, and completed the wonderful stonework.
