Randy and his crew did three major remodeling projects on my downtown Glen Arbor house in three years. The first year, he turned a small, uninteresting back deck into a beautiful screened-in porch, and built a couple of new decks, one for a grill and the other for a hot tub and an adorable outdoor shower. I learned my lesson about doing major remodeling while I tried to enjoy my summer, so my next project, a total kitchen re-do, was done the next winter. We did all the planning and decisions on design and materials while I was in Glen Arbor, but all the disruptive onsite work was done while I was back at my winter home in Iowa. Randy sent me photos of the progress every day, and my new kitchen was waiting for me, every detail completed, upon my return for the summer. The process worked so well that the next year, Randy built an addition with a garage, a mud/laundry room and a powder room. Again, we did almost all of the planning when I was present in Glen Arbor, and all the construction was done when I was away. Thank goodness for the internet! I am something of a control freak, but overseeing these projects from afar was never a problem. Randy’s work is fastidious, and since we did not work with an architect or a designer, I could rely on his and Nadine’s aesthetic in helping me make decisions about vendors, design and materials.

We have enjoyed working with Randy Weirich at Heart Homes because of his craftsmanship, quality of work and his reliability. Reliability meant producing the work in an orderly fashion and with good communication about any on-site job issues. All Randy’s work was done in a caring manner with an eye for detail and quality of construction which translates to lasting durability.

Thank you for the new garage! It is just what we had envisioned and hoped for. We wanted something more than a two-stall, and you certainly gave us that– the story and a half, with the front side eyebrow dormer is perfect. The garage is large and roomy, with plenty of space and clearance around both vehicles, along with substantial work/puttering area. The upstairs room is especially great– wide open with lots of ceiling height. Eliminating the standard roof trusses in favor of a single support beam was a great decision on your part, as was the way you configured the stairway to take up little of either the up or down floor space. Best of all, the garage fits proportionally with our home size, and the style complements as well. Thanks for your skill and effort!

We are so appreciative of all you both did to make our home so beautiful and comfortable. We couldn’t have chosen a better builder- we had and have so much confidence in and respect for you both. You exude such peace, and put so much of your heart into each project. We hope we can work with you again one day!

It was a joy to work with you in the design and build of our cottage. We appreciate that you listened carefully, and consistently transformed our comments into reality! We know such an experience is rare. Last week at a party we sang your praises to another couple planning to build in the area. We so appreciate sharing the neighborhood with you and having you part of our Empire life.
